(Post and crappy iPhone photo by August Schulenburg. Pictured: Shaun Fauntleroy, Alisha Spielmann, Rocio Mendez, Sarah Amandes and Nicole Aiken.)
In addition Flux Sunday, we also began rehearsals for Understand Your Ground, so it was a wonderful (if long) day of Fluxation.
Playwrights: Marielle Duke (The Six-Fingered King), Fengar Gael (The Last Lot), Shaun Fauntleroy (The Tony and the Mark), Aja Houston (Superwomen and Beauty Queens=World Peace); August Schulenburg (Lightning Walks)
Directors: Pete Boisvert, Heather Cohn, Marielle and Gus
Actors: Anthony Wills Jr., Isaiah Tanenbaum, Heather Lee Rogers, Ken Glickfeld, Rachael Hip-Flores, Adam Swiderski, Julian Stetlevych, Alisha Spielmann, Nicole Aiken, Rocio Mendez, Anne Dufault, Melissa Herion, Ridley Parson, David DelGrosso, Sarah Amandes.
Highlights Included:
-So, Aja’s play is really fun, right? Like every week, it’s super fun, and this week was no exception, with Marielle’s antic direction and Shaun’s deadly serious performance highlights of Superwomen and Beauty Queens=World Peace
-Rachael and Aja’s uneasy chemistry in Lightning Walks landed a dense scene perfectly
-OMG, could Swiderski have been any more charming as the bratty King and then the uncertain Tony in The Tony and the Mark?
-I missed Fengar’s play to prepare for the Understand Our Ground rehearsal–if you were there, can you share some highlights?
