Flux Sunday, 2/9/14

(Post and photos by August Schulenburg.)

(What is Flux Sunday?)

We returned to Judson Memorial Church for a therapeutic Flux Sunday, featuring two scenes with characters in therapy–it’s always exciting when these unexpected resonances pop up in our plays.

Playwrights: Katherine Burger (Gerald Figures It Out), Becky Byers (Roommates), August Schulenburg (The Sea Concerto)

Directors:  Christine Zagrobelny

Actors: Sarah Amandes, Pete Boisvert, Rachael Hip-Flores, Daryl Lathon, Anna Rahn, Heather Lee Rogers, Matthew Trumbull

Highlights included:

-Rachael and Matthew bravely forging into vulnerable places in Becky’s scene

-The haunting song poem from Katherine’s play, delivered by Heather; I remember this part from maybe ten years ago, and it is just as beautifully disturbing today

-A question from Anna that completely opened up the final scene of The Sea Concerto for me!

If you were there, what moments would you share with your therapist?

And now…some bonus photos!
